Project Upcycle 2023

Hosted by RecoverGirl at 3S Artspace, Portsmouth, NH. October 2023 

On a Thursday evening in October, 8 designers met their pile of materials (donated end-run fabrics and assorted clothing items) and their models and embarked on a 48-hour race to the runway. I was among them.

This coat, made from a heavy-weight poly twill, printed cotton, a pair of snow pants, metallic leather, and hand-made bias tape from a poly silk-like garment is an oversized, Japanese-inspired design that zips up the front and features a poppable collar and working zippered pockets in the lapel. Matching balloon short pants, a silver vest, and ankle warmers completed this enigmatic New England Streetwear look.

Grandmothers' Remains

Collection made for the 2023 'White & Cream' Biddeford Ball. Materials include tablecloths and other used textiles passed down through generations, given a new life in this animated set of unique pieces. Masks by Sean Hasey.
